Summary
The High Command Case collection consists of proceedings and supporting documents in English and German, some in German only. The collection is not indexed. The 14 defendants were charged with: waging wars of aggression, invasions of other countries; murder, torture, deportation, enslavement into forced labor; plunder; destruction of cities, towns and villages; mistreatment of p.o.w.'s; and conspiracy. The defendants were: Wilhelm von Leeb, Hugo Sperrle, Georg Karl Friedrich-Wilhelm von Kuechler, Johannes Blaskowitz (committed suicide the first day of the trial), Hermann Hoth, Hans Reinhardt, Hans von Salmuth, Karl Hollidt, Otto Schniewind, Karl von Roques, Hermann Reinecke, Walter Warlimont, Otto Wöhler, Rudolf Lehmann.

Historical Data
One of 12 war crimes trials of Nazis conducted by the American Military Tribunals (AMT) after World War II, in Nuremberg, Germany. All the defendants held various positions in the military organization, the German High Command (Oberkommando der Wehrmacht [OKW]). The focus of the trial was on their position to control war activities and illegal activities in the occupied territories that they conquered.
