Summary
At a Conference held at Fort Pitt on Tuesday the 26th day of April 1768 with the Chiefs and principal warriors of the Six Nations, Delaware, Shawnee, Munsies, and Mohickons residing on the waters of the Ohio. George Croghan, three other Englishmen led the discussions, with Henry Montour as interpreter and thirteen soldiers standing by. There were well over 1,000 Native Americans and dependents there, including some Wyandottes. Croghan welcomed everyone with the usual ceremonies.
