Summary
Lt. Moncrief came from Niagara to say that when the British General was killed, Sir William Johnson assumed command. Moncrief provided details about the troop positions. When the French and Native Americans attacked in the morning, the British "ruined" them. The retreating French were pursued and brought back to the Fort as prisoners. Johnson told the Fort's commander to surrender, and after some thought, he did. It was all over in one long day.
