Summary
Memorandum on the 20th of February 1759. Andrew Montour told the Governor the messengers who had come from the Native Americans at Boccaloons were waiting impatiently to carry news back to the west. The vague answers they had been given were not enough--the Indians needed to know specifically what the plans were for the spring so they could position their warriors and protect their dependents. Yes, the General was sick, but couldn't someone else make decisions? They also felt it necessary that Montour go with them to provide authority and also interpret. Montour said he was an officer now and could not go along unless the General ordered him to go.
