Summary
Communication about the Six Nations, etc. and the Governor of Virginia. Members of the Six Nations wanted to meet the Governor of Pennsylvania at Carlisle. Other topics discussed include Indian relationships with the French, French troops, Virginia militia, settlements, and land. The document concludes, "Whether the settlement should be removed in pursuance of such a plan or not, it is proposed that some forts should be built on the back of the [ninth?] part of Virginia, and some independent companys raised, to take possession of them, to command which ... officers should be sent from England, such as are most likely to be content with living far detached from the principal settlements. Those forts may be settled places of trade for the traders of all the provinces, as that at Oswego is for New York now." (Page [2]).
