Summary
1841 petition of Samuel Coyes, of the Narragansett Tribe, to the Rhode Island General Assembly. Coyes petitions to sell his real estate in Charlestown, given that he wished to buy a farm in New York. The second document is the response from the Rhode Island House of Representatives granting the petition and allowing a sale; however, future owners would still be subject to the regulations of the Narragansett Tribe.
