Summary
Conference with Pennsylvania government officials and Indians of the Six Nations at Philadelphia in July 1749. The Senecas said they had come to meet the new Governor. They discovered there were settlers on the side of Blue Mountain, which was part of the Nations' land, and they wanted to know what the Governor could do. They further noted that the Conoys had never been paid for their land. On July 4th, Hamilton responded. He had arranged for the illegal settlements to be removed, but he had a convoluted explanation as to why the Conoys were not entitled to any money for their land. The reaction of the Senecas is not noted.
