Report consists of: text of the Constitution as ratified by the Constitutional Convention on Sept. 17, 1787; information on ratification, with printed signatures of George Washington, President and Deputy from Virginia, and witnesses from each state; September 17, 1787 resolution from the Convention; statement from George Washington dated September 17, 1787, which begins, "We have now the honor to submit to the confederation of the United States in Congress assembled, that Constitution which has appeared to us the most advisable"; and a resolution dated September 28, 1787 that indicates that "the said report, with the resolutions and letter accompanying the same, be transmitted to several legislatures, in order to be submitted to a Convention of Delegates, chosen in each state by the People thereof ..."
