Summary
Extract of a letter from Robert Hunter Morris, Esq., Lieutenant Governor of Pennsylvania to the Proprietor of the Province, received by the Proprietor on 15 February 1755. The Connecticut affair had taken a bad turn. Someone had bought Susquehanna land from the Six Nations [even though it had been owned by the Proprietor for many years]. Morris notified the Governor of Connecticut of a meeting in Hartford about the property and sent an agent to see what he could learn. Several of the Six Nations chiefs planned to repudiate the deed to the Susquehanna property and perhaps take the land by force. Morris did not expect much help from the Assembly.
