Summary
The Honourable James Hamilton, Esq., Lieutenant Governor and Commander in Chief of the Province of Pennsylvania and counties of Newcastle, Kent, and Sussex on the Delaware. The Governor ran through the familiar story of the land fraud complaints of the Delaware to be considered by William Johnson and the results submitted to the King. A meeting was scheduled in Easton for June 15 [1762] and Johnson had asked for Commissioners to attend and present the Proprietors' side of the story. Peters and Chew were to attend with all the necessary deeds and other paperwork to prove the complaint was "groundless and unjust." "Given under my hand and seal" June 9, 1762.
