Note
Comprised of documents. The first is addressed to the Rhode Island General Assembly and is a petition from members of the Narraganset Tribe of Indians in Charlestown requesting that a committee be appointed to review "divers law suits, disputes and controversies ... between the members of said tribe to their great detriment & expense." The other document is an order from the House of Representatives for the appointment of a committee with members Edward Willcox and Nathan F. Dixon. A note at end indicates that the Senate met the same day and amends the order that the work should be done without expense to the state. The document is headed "House of Representatives, February 23rd, A.D. 1821."
