Summary
The first page of the letter is difficult to read. Weiser had returned from Shamokin on the 18th. He had met two sons of Chief Shirkelimy on the road, and since no other Indians were in camp, he did the condoling ceremony with the sons. He asked that the oldest son serve in his father's stead and sent a message to Onondaga asking that the young man be confirmed in that role. The men reported the settlement of more than thirty families on Indian land, which had ruined the deer habitat. Weiser said the discussion would have to wait until the Six Nations and the Governor could talk. Weiser sent an account of the cost of the present totaling L15.
