Note
A council met several times in Pennsylvania in 1753. Among other topics discussed was a message received from the Governor of Virginia indicating that he had met with members of the Six Nations, the Shawnee, Delaware, and Twickwees at Winchester. Their chiefs urgently wanted a meeting with the Governor of Pennsylvania in Carlisle on the way back to New York and Ohio. These handwritten notes are of meetings held in September through November 1753. Some were held in Philadelphia; other meetings, held in Carlisle, include the commissioners and Indians.
