Summary
Private intelligence or [illeg.] observations on Indian politicks, Frederick Post. This paper was for General Forbes, with most of the impressions gathered on a journey. The Five Nations was the most powerful group. Their first principle was control of as many nations as possible, by alliances or force as appropriate. The Five Nations would select a prime piece of property and ask a smaller tribe if they want to live there. After five or ten years, the Nations to make way for another favored group. All Indians were constantly passing data to Onondaga. There are also Seven Nations to the West. If whites promise something to the Indians, it should be done. The lies of traders and messengers have caused great harm. Post hoped the information was useful.
