Summary
1843 report of the Maine Legislature Joint Standing Committee on the Judiciary regarding a petition of John Doggett, which is included, along with a memorial of William Emerson, and resolves from the committee. The committee determined that Doggett should have the benefit of a prior resolve which had canceled a debt of Emerson in a land purchase from the state; Doggett purchased some of the land at an inflated price and thus should be property assigned the money.
