Note
Letter addressed to George P. Sewall, Speaker of the House of Representatives, and signed by Sam'l Cony, Treasurer. It is dated January 31, 1852. Included are tables with captions: Amounts annually paid from the Treasury office under the appropriation bills, for five years and eight months, commencing with May 1, 1846, and closing with December 31, 1851, for all purposes other than the State debt, the interest thereon, and county roads, under the act repealed in 1849, and the ratio of annual increase of payments; An estimate of the future annual expenditures of the State for the five years ending with 1846, based upon a calculation for the five past years, for all purposes requiring the payment of money, excepting the State debt and interest thereon; Amount to be paid annually for principal and interest upon the State debt, up to and including 1856; Estimated resources of the State for five years ending with 1856; and Estimate of expenditures for the years 1852, 1853, 1854, 1855 and 1856, including public debt and interest.
