Summary
Includes two "versions" of Västmannalagen, the earlier and the later; the earlier has, according to the editor, been wrongly regarded as a separate code of Dalecarlia under the name of Dalalagen. This viewpoint has been disputed by later authorities, and modern scholars uphold the theory that it is a special code of Dalecarlia. Cf. Företal, and Nordisk familjebok, 3. uppl., v. 5, col. 342.
