Summary
On March 20, 1840, the Council sent the Legislature a special report from the Bank Commissioners. The Commissioners had completed their examination of all the state's banks and savings institutions. Banks that had recently closed were slowly collecting their outstanding loans and closing their books--there was some detail about each institution.
