Note
The memorial is signed: "Edward Brooks, Horace Mass, S.C. Phillips, Committee of the Trustees. Boston, January 15th, 1833." The memorial is followed by a report of the "Joint committee of the Senate and House of Representatives to whom was referred the petition in behalf of the New England Asylum for the Blind" (Page 5), which is signed by Samuel P. Loud, Chairman. This is followed by a resolution "that there be paid out of the Treasury of the Commonwealth to the Trustees of New England Asylum for the Blind the sum of six thousand dollars annually, in quarterly payments..." (Page 12).
