"The undersigned, your memorialists, respectfully represent that the joint committee of the Senate and House, to whom was referred the memorial of Mead, Robson and others, alleging grave frauds on the part of your memorialists in the management of the affairs of the Amboy, Lansing and Traverse Bay Railroad Company, having heard the testimony presented by the said Mead, Robson and others, in support of their charges, at once closed their investigation of the matters referred to them, and declined to hear the testimony which your memorialists desired to offer in vindication of their action in the matters complained of. ... Your memorialists therefore respectfully request that the said joint committee may not be discharged from further investigation of the said matters referred to them, but that they be further instructed to renew the investigation..."--Pages 1-2.
