Summary
Report of the Michigan Senate Committee on Public Lands about the reclamation of swamp lands for roads and ditches. The committee recommends that the law should be amended to lessen expenses by the appointment of one commissioner in each county with roads to be constructed, appropriating lands, and not constructing roads in uninhabited wilderness. They also recommend that the homestead bill be amended to grant eighty rather than forty acres to settlers.
