Summary
Report of a minority of the Michigan House Committee on Banks and Incorporations about a "bill to amend an act entitled an act to authorize the sale of the Michigan Southern Railroad and to incorporate the Michigan Southern Railroad Company, approved May 9, 1846." (Page 1). The minority of the committee proposes an amendment to the bill, and suggests that the results of the committee work was fixed by friends of the railroad company. As noted in the minority report, "The sessions are annually attended by the representatives of at least the two most important railroad companies in this State, for the purpose of procuring the passage of laws for the benefit of those companies, and wholly for the advancement of their interests, without conceding anything to the people of this State for privileges they ask, however important." (Page 3). The report is signed by J.B. Eaton.
