Summary
Report of the Michigan Senate Committee on State Affairs about a bill to regulate fisheries. The committee notes that "they believe the law reported will accomplish the end desired, of prohibiting an over-exercise of the right by law, while it will fully secure to all its reasonable employment. The principal feature of the bill is that which prohibits, near the chief outlets and inlets of our great lakes, the setting of standing nets, while it still permits the old mode of seine fishing." (Page 3). The committee recommends passage of the bill.
