Summary
Memorial from James A. Van Dyke, attorney for the Michigan Central Railroad Company, to the Michigan Legislature about a pending bill related to the incorporation of railroad companies. Van Dyke indicates that a provision of the bill would negatively impact the Michigan Central Railroad Company in that it would "allow valuable rights and franchises to be taken, not for the use of benefit of the State, but by other corporations, and without the probability of any adequate compensation being granted therefor."
