Summary
Communication from Wm. Hammond, Agent, to George A. Coe, President of the Senate, of the State of Michigan. It is dated January 22, 1855. The communication is in response to a resolution of the Michigan Senate requesting information on, "whether any money has been drawn from the Treasury of the State for the purpose of erecting a building for solitary confinement, and a House of Correction for juvenile offenders, and if any has been drawn, how much, and how much expended, and for what purpose expended; also, whether said building is in progress of erection, what progress has been made, and the present condition of said work, together with a plan of said buildings, also, to communicate such other facts m relation to the condition and management of said Prison, and in relation to such needful legislation as, in his opinion, the interest of the State may demand..."--Page 1.
