Summary
On an unspecified date in 1825, the General Court said that on those occasions when a person had to take an oath, the person who did not wish to swear could affirm instead. However, if the court or other official was suspicious of the person's motives, the person could be required to prove he was Quaker or in some other way unable to swear.
