Summary
Report from the Salt Commissioner at Wilmington to North Carolina Governor Vance regarding the condition of the state salt works and a raid of the works on Masonboro Sounds in April 1864 by Union soldiers, as well as the aftereffects from same. The report was sent to the North Carolina House of Commons in May, 1864. Includes reports dated April 22 and May 6, 1864. The reports are addressed to Gov. Z.B. Vance , are signed: D.G. Worth, Salt Commissioner and are signed by D.G. Worth, Salt Commissioner. A letter of transmittal is addressed to R.S. Donnell, Speaker of House of Commons, and is signed by Geo. Little, Col. and Aid-de-Camp, Executive Department.
