Summary
Special report of the Louisiana Joint Committee on Finance on devising a plan to reduce the debt of the Free School and Seminary Fund without resorting to taxation, as well as a review of the growing debt. The report is signed by D.D. Withers (Chairman of the Finance Committee of the Senate) and Aug. W. Jourdan (Chairman of the Finance Committee of the House of Rep.). The report includes a financial statement: Statement showing the ultimate produce of $183,000 remaining in the State Debt Fund, estimating the cost of the yearly investment at par.
