Summary
July 29, 1868 report by former governor Jonathan Worth regarding the condition and expenditures needed for the Executive Mansion. A letter of transmittal from Governor W.W. Holden is addressed to the Speaker of the House of Representatives. The report mentions that General Sherman and his successors used the mansion as headquarters until 1867, leaving it greatly damaged. It was assumed that the United States government would rent for the use of the mansion as a military headquarters, but that did not happen.
