Report of the Maryland House Committee on Internal Improvement regarding a review of the money borrowed on a pledge of the certificates of stock of the state issued in 1838, and what portions remained unexpended; the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal was the subject of the financial arrangement. Also included are resolutions resulting from an examination of this issue dealing with requested appropriations from the United States to complete the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal to the town of Cumberland.
