Summary
Submission by the Maryland Treasurer of the Western Shore regarding the obligation of the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal Company in pursuance of Chapter 241 of 1834, by deed. The obligation includes "completion of the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal to Cumberland, and for the completion of the Baltimore and Susquehanna Rail Road to the borough of York in the State of Pennsylvania." (Page 3) The letter of transmittal from George Mackubin, Treasr. W.S. Md., is addressed to the House of Delegates, and is dated 18th January, 1840. The report is signed by G.C. Washington, President, and directors. The report includes several attestations.
