Summary
Communication of the California Surveyor General regarding public lands that might be offered for sale the following May by the United States government. The Surveyor General indicates that the land, which was swamp land and overflowing land, belonged to the state. The communication recommends that the Senate request that the Governor ask that the planned sale be delayed for one year to give the state time to substantiate its claim. The report is addressed to the Senate of the State of California and is signed by H.A. Higley, Surveyor General.
