Summary
Report submitted in response to a resolution of the House of Representatives requesting information on whether the Treasurer of State gave special authority to the treasurer of Ross County to receive notes of the Bank of Chillicothe in payment of taxes. The Treasurer of State indicates that such instructions were not given; it was left up to the county treasurers and banks to determine method of payment. Also included are the instructions given to various county treasurers about banks in which they should make deposits. The report is addressed to the House of Representatives and is signed by Jos. Whitehill, Treasurer of State.
