Summary
Communication from the state auditor with questions about uncertain processes related state finances. One question is about the responsibility of toll moneys collected. On occasion, banks refused to receive deposits of tolls collected. Instructions do not clearly indicate whether the moneys collected are to be considered the property of the state being held by the collectors or whether the collectors are responsible until it is turned over. In addition, questions related to moneys from licenses to auctioneers and about loans of credit to turnpike companies are posed. The report is addressed to the Ohio General Assembly and is signed by Jno. Brough, Auditor of State.
