Summary
A report on the National Road, which consists of a report from the Board of Public Works (signed by Leander Ransom and Wm. Spencer) dated February 17, 1844, and a report from John Yontz, Resident Engineer, N.R. dated December 20, 1843. The report from the Board addresses issues in which it dissents from the resident engineer related to how tolls are determined. The report from the resident engineer includes a table showing receipts by month from November 1842 to October 1843, a list of amounts disbursed, amounts due to contractors and others, plus a narrative report of financial matters, including tolls, ways to improve contracts, and road materials.
