"The Committee on Common Schools to whom was referred the resolution of the House, and also divers petitions, to inquire into the expediency of abolishing the office of Superintendent of Common Schools, now report... [Conclusion]: The office of Superintendent of Common Schools ought not to be abolished, unless provision can be made under the resolution of the House on this subject, of Jan. 21, or in some other way, for the performance of the duties of that office."--Pages 3, 5.
