"The following resolution of your honorable body was received this evening: 'Resolved, That the Bank Commissioners be requested to communicate at as early a day as practicable, what banks in this state, if any, within the knowledge of their board, have been transporting specie out of this state for the purpose of vending the same at a profit, since last September.' In reply to the foregoing resolution, we would respectfully state, that the examinations of the several banking institutions of this state, (with one exception) were made prior to the month of September last. We have no knowledge that any of the banks in Ohio have transported specie out of the state since the time mentioned in the resolution..."--Page 1.
