"The standing committee on Public Works, which was instructed 'to inquiry, and report, whether the paper of the Lebanon Miami Bank, or any of the illegal or fraudulent-institutions of this, or any other state, has been paid out during the past season to the laborers on the public works, by any of the officers, agents, or servants of the state, and whether the payments of funds upon said works have been made in conformity with the provisions of the act to regulate the receipt and disbursement of the canal fund, passed March 23d, 1840, report..."--Page 1.
