Summary
"The select committee on the subject of the Silk Culture, and to whom was referred a large number of petitions on that subject, have had the same under consideration and now report: That they have been led to estimate the importance of the culture to the people of the State, more and more highly, as they have given the subject an examination. ... It is ardently hoped that the culture will be thought worthy of further legislative encobragement. In addition to our agricultural, mechanical, and manufacturing interests, this may also become a source of prosperity to the people of the State. Ohio is destined for the front rank in the sisterhood of States."--Page 2, 28.
