Summary
February 5, 1845 reply by Walter Gwynn, president of the Portsmouth and Roanoke Railroad Company, regarding prior communication by Francis E. Rives regarding the purchase of parts of that company. At issue were sale and reorganization of the railroad company and ownership of the railroad tracks in North Carolina. The Petersburg Railroad Company is mentioned in connection with Rives possible relationship to that company.
