Summary
1843 South Carolina resolutions against the assumptions of state debts by the federal government, which were sent to the Virginia General Assembly. The South Carolina resolutions are in response to resolutions from Alabama.
Note
Letter of transmittal from Ja. M'Dowell, Executive Department, is addressed to the Speaker of the House of Delegates and is dated December 28, 1843. The document also includes correspondence from J.H. Hammond, Executive Department, Columbia, South Carolina, to the governor of Virginia.
