Summary
1839 report and resolutions by the New Jersey General Assembly and Council that public lands are common property of the entire Union and that proceeds from the sale of same should be proportionally distributed. In addition the resolutions protested the low land prices and other aspects in selling the public land. These were sent to the Virginia governor, who submitted them to the House of Delegates.
