Note
"Resolved, That a committee of three be appointed whose duty it shall be to present a memorial to the legislature representing to them the causes which will probably prevent the completion of the canal through the lands of John Percival near Lynchburg for several months after it will have been completed in all other parts from the basin at Richmond to Lynchburg, and asking permission to levy the tolls provided by their charter when the canal shall have been completed from the basin at Richmond to Lynchburg, with the exception of so much thereof as has been located through the lands of John Percival; and moreover asking of the legislature that in all cases of assessments made hereafter and confirmed by the,courts, writs of possession may be issued under suitable regulations, in order to put the company in possession of the land condemned for their use."--Page 1.
