Summary
1837 report of the Alabama Joint Examining Committee on the condition and affairs of state banks and branches in Alabama, which was retained by the Virginia legislature. Various financial statements were attached to the report which focused on the ability of debtors to make payments to the banks.

"January 18th, 1838 ... Mr. Woolfolk submitted the report of the joint examining committee of both branches of the legislature of Alabama on the condition and affairs of the state bank and branches, which, on his motion, was ordered to be referred to the committee on banks, and 195 copies thereof were ordered to be printed for the use of the general assembly."--Journal of the House of Delegates of the Commonwealth of Virginia, 1838, page 59-60.
