Summary
Report of the Select Committee on Abolition regarding the governor's message regarding the "disorganizing, seditious and incendiary" writings of abolitionists. In a series of resolutions the committee reaffirmed its commitment to the Union, while stating that the federal government cannot abolish slavery. Included were also several proposed amendments by Mr. Watkins and Mr. Miller.
