Report of the Commercial Agent of Virginia, with accompanying documents, transmitted General Assembly. Included in the documents were statements showing the amount and investments of cotton yards, cloths.

Letter of transmittal on the main document is from Wm. Smith, State of Virginia, Executive Department and is addressed to the Gentlemen of the Senate and House of Delegates. It is dated Dec. 21, 1864. The report is signed by S. Bassett French, Com'l Ag't of Virginia, and is dated Dec. 9, 1864. Accompanying documents include a letter to "the President and Directors or Owners or Lessees of the Several Cotton Factories in this Commonwealth." The supplemental report consists of a letter of transmittal from S. Bassett French, Commercial Agent of Va., to the Governor of Virginia; and Doc. No. XXIV, Report of the Superintendent of the Virginia Military Institute relative to pay and state cadets (1865). The report from the superintendent of the Virginia Military Institute, is a report with the names, ages, residences and dates of matriculation of all the cadets of the institution.
