Summary
Resolutions of South Carolina regarding the Wilmot Proviso, submitted to the Virginia House of Delegates. Of note, the Wilmot Proviso proposed an American law to ban slavery in territory acquired from Mexico in the Mexican War; the resolutions objected to passage of same and joined with other slave-holding states in its resistance.
