Note
Report of the Joint Committee on Salt regarding the contract with Stuart, Buchanan and Company and Charles Scott and Co. Among various issues including a delay in the delivery of furnaces, the committee concluded that the company had violated its contract with the state by failing to make timely and sufficient shipments of brine to the state furnaces. Various resolutions were made to address the numerous salt shortages.
