Two addresses from the Governor, Council and Convention of the Massachusetts Colony and presented to the king and queen at Hampton Court on August 7, 1689 by Sir Henry Ashurst, Baronet. Included were complaints against Governor Andros, as well as support against "Popery and Slavery."

"To the King and Queen's Most Excellent Majesties. The humble address and petition of the governour, Council, and Convention of representatives of the people of Your Majesties colony of the Massachusets, in New-England" dated and signed: Boston in New-England, June 6. 1689. S. Bradstreet in the name and behalf of the Council and Convention (page 4).
"The authors of these addresses are the governor, Council, and Convention of the Massachusetts colony with whom Cotton Mather worked...In view of this, and the fact that the phraseology and style...is that of Cotton Mather, we credit the framing and writing of the documents to him."--Holmes 414.
